Lifestyle

Nova Scotia truly is one of the few remaining places left on earth where you can find raw natural beauty that is essentially untouched! While visiting your home away from home, you’ll be able to enjoy activities like swimming, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, water-skiing, snorkeling, and fishing. Be sure to pack your rods if you’re going boating – you may be able to reel in some mackerel or cod.

When you’re not busy with water activities, you can enjoy beachside barbeques while watching for wildlife like seals, bald eagles, grey herons, and loons. You can also spend time relaxing on serene sunset walks and stargazing on clear evenings.

Community & Surrounding Area

The scenic seaside community of River Bourgeois is just a short five-minute drive from Shorefront Estates. This small community of a few hundred residents is one of Cape Breton's most charming maritime communities. River Bourgeois was originally settled in 1714 and is steeped in rich Acadian history and culture. Welcoming locals will make you feel right at home during your visits! Local accommodations, a post office, church, and a recreation complex are all available here.

The charming fishing village of St. Peter’s, Nova Scotia is 15 minutes southeast of Shorefront Estates. As the commercial centre of Richard County, it will satisfy all your shopping needs. You can stock up on the basics at grocery stores, visit the liquor store, fill up at the service station, take care of your banking needs, dine at local restaurants and cafes, or peruse gift and craft shops for keepsakes.

Plenty of fun trips await in St. Peter’s, like visiting the St. Peter’s Canal National Historic site. It's a popular spot for fishing, picnicking, and swimming. You can also enjoy other site seeing opportunities like visiting the Cape George Harbour Lighthouse, River Bourgeois Lighthouse, and Gregory Island Lighthouse.
